Could you send me the build log from a fresh & clean start ? I.e.
something like:

  $ ./create-srcdir
  $ ./build-it -static > build-output.txt 2>&1

(the -static is just to have a smaller and faster build, building the shared
libraries takes much more time.)

And then we can try to figure out the initial problem.
