Hi Logan- Thanks for getting in touch and we appreciate the feedback. We actually sent a feedback form out to the GCI mentors list about 6 months ago to get opinions on the date change. After a lot of careful consideration, and taking all of the feedback into account (both good and bad) we decided to run the contest earlier this year.
We know that the dates are not ideal for everyone, but we believe it will be a positive change for both students and mentors. Hopefully you can work around the issues and try to urge students in Mauritus participate again this year despite the schedule change. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help.
