To answer your question: attempting more complex tasks will probably be looked upon more favourably than completing "easy" tasks, even if you complete said easy task in a satisfactory manner.
Attempt both easy and hard tasks, focus on what you are able to do and your abilities, but with that being said, you should also try a few which are outside of your comfort zone :) Learning is important!
