Greetings! Is
(compile nil (lambda (x y) (member x y :test 'equal))) effectively forbidden from performing any equal optimizations by the 'no copy or coalesce rule', i.e. someone might change #'equal and the compiled code should still reference the original function? This of course begs the question whether equal optimizations have any meaning if one can change the function definition, etc. Are symbols in certain packages sacrosanct in this sense?
