Greetings!  Am hoping this is a cvs cross, and that your top level
makefile does not yet look like:

system: $(PORTDIR)/$(FLISP)
        [ "$(X_LIBS)" == "" ] || cd xgcl-2 && make saved_xgcl LISP=../$< && mv 
saved_xgcl ../$(PORTDIR)/$(FLISP)
        touch $@
