Sorry, I think the option is --enable-locbfd, but I don't know if it
works right in 2.6.7.

There's a thread on building gcl on Mac OS X in the Axiom Devel mailing
list.

I think my copy was built with the following flags:

./configure  --prefix=`pwd` --disable-xgcl --enable-locbfd
--disable-statsysbfd --enable-machine=powerpc-macosx --disable-tkconfig
--disable-x --disable-xgcl '--enable-maxpage=128*1024'
