I have compiled GCL 2.6.8pre without problem (with respect to the zlib dependency), but I have found two minor bugs: 1 - Emacs configuration was not well detected: From the configure output: checking for emacs... /usr/bin/emacs checking emacs site lisp directory... NONE/share/emacs/site-lisp/ checking emacs default.el... ./default.el checking emacs info/dir...
