Just "upgraded" from Suse 8.2 to 9.3. During the upgrade encountered some gconf
-related messages. Had to ignore them to continue with the upgrade. Now a
number of applications don't start. After a couple of days of uninstalling,
reinstalling and googling, i think i've reached the end of my capabilities to
fix this. If you have any suggestions, or where to look for help please tell me.
* Exact error messages from any applications.
No error messages. Things like Evolution, Firefox, Acrobat Reader simply don't
start.
* Exact version of GConf 1 and GConf 2 that you have installed.
gconf-1.0.9-768
gconf2-2.10.0-5
* Output of ps jaxwww | grep gconf.

/desktop/gnome/interface/accessibility
* Output of gconf-sanity-check-1 or gconf-sanity-check-2 if any.
Check 1 returns nothing.
Check 2 returns the following.

* What operating system are you using, and what version of it.
Suse 9.3/2.6.11.4-21.7

gconfd tries to start. Then:
