Re adding default launchers

Actually this is rather problematic, it can be done several ways but it changes
with about every release. Further, as far as I know the admin doc for Gnome
2.10, 2.12 was never completed, and the pre-existing mechanisms don't work.

IMO whoever is handling that particular function needs to get slapped, it's
important that this be documented for admins. If Linux is ever going to get out
of the baby carriage, this is one of the things that needs drastic improvement.

While I'm on the stump, printer control is also important to business users,
i.e. tray to use, and etc.

Let me know if you find a way, I have been doing it by hand since 2.8.

Hello,

forgive me if I'm asking in the wrong list.

I would like to add a default launcher, i.e. for all users, to the panel.
Background: during a kickstart installation, I would like to add the screenshot
app to the panel. It seems that the %post section is the right place for doing
so.

I'm searching the archives and docs quite a while now, but don't find a
solution. Would be great if you could point me in the right direction.

I cannot believe it's supposed to be so unbelievably complicated to add a
launcher.

Regards,

Uwe
