Hi Sam, I see you've attached recently a patch in http://trac.osgeo.org/gdal/wiki/rfc40_enhanced_rat_support that does the refactoring of GDALRasterAttributeTable vs GDALTableRasterAttributeTable. Do you intend it to be committed in trunk before tackling the implementation in the HFA driver ?
I'd suggest you open a ticket in Trac to follow more easily the implementation of RFC 40.
