Hi Alain, I know that this subject is too old but I'm trying to use GDALCreateDib function you've posted in 2005 but It's not working and there is no error. I've only detected that bmi variable don't take any value during debug... Can you please help me? Best regards,

How RasterIO deals with size shrinks is a GDAL problem ;-) BTW there is a (very) small bug in the code I posted at http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.gis.gdal.devel/2269/ . If someone requests I can post an updated version. The XP GDI+ library is much more powerful than GDI.
