OK, I will do that. I had thought about that before, it is doesn't feel intuitive to read tens of thousands of features from a layer and then just ignore/delete them. I had hope that with the filter I could get better performance by not reading them at all.
But it seems that's not how it works with the interleaved reading, so I'll implement it like this.
