Thank you for your reply. However, I have already tried CDO and it does not work for what I am trying to do.
When you apply a rotated pole grid to a file with CDO, it does not change any of the data in the fields. It does not do any kind of "reprojection", as it were. All it does is add info about the location of the rotated pole to the file header, and then the file gets displayed accordingly by netcdf file viewers.
