as a regular user, type 'which geany' in command line. This will tell
you where your geany executable is.
Then do 'sudo -s' and 'echo $PATH'. Do you see the directory from first
step in this list?
If you don't, just add 'export PATH=${PATH}:/path/to/dir/with/geany/in'
to .bashrc or .zshrc or whatever
