Just one thing, the Split Window plugin does allow changing the split
view document, it's just not very obvious. In the split view, there's a
toolbar along the top, the button in the left of this is to show the
current document (from the document notebook), and just to the right of
this there's a drop-down button/menu (down arrow) which allows you to
show any of the other open documents.
