Could you try the following steps:
* Select Safari->Empty Cache and restart Safari.
* Open docs.
This shouldn't have any effect, but I just want to make sure.
Then:
* Close Safari.
* Move aside (don't delete) the '~/Library/Application
Support/Google/Google Gears
for Safari' folder.
* Reopen Safari and resync docs.
If the latter fixes the problem then we may need to take a look at the
contents of
the old Gears data folder.
