I'm unable to replicate the crash on either FF2 or 3 on XP or Ubuntu. If
anybody else
manages to replicate this, please let me know.
If left alone for a few more seconds it returns an
error
ie:'Error retrieving your location: Response from network provider at
http://www.google.com/loc/json was malformed.'
I'm also intrigued by this, which indicates an error in the Google location
server or
in Gears' parsing of the response. If you could capture the Gears HTTP
request to
www.google.com/loc/json and the response (using Ethereal or similar), I'll
take a
look.
