One thing I would love to see in gears is clipboard access. The problem
with the current browser implementations is that only IE provide a way to
access the clipboard as HTML. If you could access the clipboard to get/set
data from gears you would be able to for example paste microformatted HTML
contents from one site into another site. For example copy contact (hCard)
information from site A into site B.
You could also implement the gears blob API and copy paste in a file or
even image data and upload it using the XHR.
Just think of the possibilities. :)
I've tried to get the browser vendors to implement the possibility to grab
the current clipboard contents but it's a slow process. Maybe gears is a
better way to get this functionality in there. :)
