Comment #2 on issue 800 by OLBMail: unable to install google gear

When you get an error message saying that file are missing or whatever while
installing Google Gears gears.google.com, go to gears.goggle.com but do not
click on
the large button to download the installation program. That is where you
will get
the error.
Instead, look for the instruction that says something like if you do not
see a
downloader or installer, click here. Right-click on the "click here" link
and save
the link to someplace like your desktop.
Go to the file you saved which may be named something like GearsSetup.exe.
Run
(double-click) that file and everything should install. This has worked on
Windows
Vista and XP.
