Same issue on Intel with OS X 10.5.8, Firefox 3.5.2 and gears 0.5.30.0
Steps:
– removing ~/Library/Caches/Firefox/xxxx.default/Google Gears for Firefox
- removing all permissiong in the tools/Gears settings menu.
– deinstalling google gears in the add-on management.
– restarting computer, repairing permission, checking that there is enough
disk space.
– starting firefox, click on "offline 0.2" in gmail and installing gears
extension 0.5.30.0.
– restarting firefox, logging back into gmail. Clicking on "offline 0.2"
again.
- get "failed to load required ressources. Failed to enable local store".
- another message appears just after, before clicking "ok" to the "local
store" error message. This is asking to
create a shortcut on the computer.
- clicking "ok" to the "local store" error (no other possibility) and "ok"
also for the shortcut.
Nothing happens.
Clicking on the "offline 0.2" brings "Status: finishing offline
installation" which disapears at once the first time
a necessitate a second click to stick.
From this point on, the behavior will always be the same, with "Status:
finishing offline installation".
