I ditto comments 83 and 84. I'm having problems installing gears at all (I get the typical output mentioned above saying it isn't compatible).
I'm running firefox 3.6.13 on 32 bit OpenSuse 11.2, and if it matters, KDE 4.4 (as well as WindowMaker).
Most of the fixes I've found seem to be for Debian-based systems. Anything for us?
