No prob, thanks for responding. Our Apps domain still does not support gears.
When you say "Periodically, Apps for Domains get updated with the feature." Do you mean that some has to "flip the switch" to turn gears functionality for each partner page individually? To clarify, my gears installation does work with other sites (i.e. Remember The Milk).
