Are you just calling one location request (GetCurrentPosition?)

I've also had a similar problem with the very first location request.
It has put my location in NYC when I'm in Chicago. If I were to open
the GMaps application and get a fix with GPS and THEN run my Gears
test, I get an accurate fix. The only thing I can think of is that the
very first fix it gets isn't accurate, and you need to wait at least
one fix before you can get one that is worthwhile. I'd be curious to
see if you were experiencing the same result as I am.

If this is the case, I think I'd need to check the accuracy flag of
the returned position and keep polling until the accuracy reaches a
desired level. This also happens on m.google.com so it appears to be a
systemic issue and not something with my code.

I'm running WinMo 6.1 on a Motorola Q9c.

Hope that helps!
