So, anyone bother to tell me why this is a browser extension, rather
than a program to go along with google pack? I mean, ok, it syncs with
web pages, but what if I don't use firefox (I definitely don't want to
use IE), or whatsoever I don't want to use a browser, just keep my
files synchronized, both for offline access and backup. Gears is a
great idea due to that! Plus it'd be great to combo with indexing
files and e-mails along with GDS, one more reason to be with gpack,
and it would be one more reason to use gears. :P

I just don't get it. It seems so clumsy as an extension. There could
be an extension to be able to use the "cached" webpages in any given
browser, if it couldn't be done in another way (like emulating the OS
to be connected to internet when offline, doesn't seem too hard to
do). I can see it as an extension for THAT. But that's far to be the
main or best use for it, as I see it.

Ok, maybe I'm dreaming a little too far ahead in time, but I hope
not. :)
