[gears-users] gears_init blows up my safari...

I develop mostly against Gears for Firefox, and I've been enabling and  
disabling Gears to test for how I handle not having Gears installed.

I just fired up my site in Safari, however, and it blows up while  
running gears_init.js.  I've done some simple debugging, and it seems  
that adding the object tag to the document is what causes the crash.   
I have not installed Gears in Safari, so I find this especially  
disconcerting.

I should note that I'm adding the gears_init.js to my page by adding a  
script element with javascript.  I don't have the luxury of including  
gears_init in the markup, but I don't see why that would make a  
difference.
