I second this suggestion. Over the weekend I tried getting Gears to
work with Firefox 3.1b2pre (nigtlies) and Google Docs.
Was a bit of a hassle to get Firefox to load the extension as the
maxVersion doesn't support it. But even after getting around that
(http://kb.mozillazine.org/Extensions.checkCompatibility), Gears
didn't want to play with GDocs.

Any luck on your side, MrFloris?
