Is there anyone from gears developers on this list?
How can I send a message to the developers? I looked for it in the site but
I didn't found a way.

I believe a verification like that could not block the installation, let
the user try to do what him want to do with his own browser..., warn but not
block

This is the browser signature
"Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.16) Gecko/20080702
Iceweasel/2.0.0.16 (Debian-2.0.0.16-0etch1)"
I'm sure that is completely compatible
