I too cannot get geolocation to work with the GPS on my HTC Tyn II (AT&T Tilt).
I have tried disabling urls, (see other posts), but that does not work either. Google maps can use the GPS after youselect GPS. Works great! It seems that Gears doe not support using or initializing the GPS. Very disappointing. I have posted a few times on this subject.
