Thanks for the response. I figured that there was no way to do this but wanted to confirm just in case someone did get it to work. The installation is not a problem since we already have a mechanism to automatically install applications to the client machines.
We are currently using Oracle web-to-go for our offline implementation, but every time we upgrade Oracle something ends up breaking on the web-to-go side. And since our web application is very big, we wanted a solution that did not require us to rewrite most or if not all of our server side code and from what it looks like porting over our code to work with Gears will require a lot of effort.
