I currently run Mozilla Firefox 3 under Ubuntu Linux.

The other day, I wanted to check something on my calendar, but I was
nowhere near the internet. Fortunately, I remembered that I had
activated Gears on my Google Calendar. So, I booted up my laptop and
went to calendar.google.com, only to see Firefox complain that it
couldn't connect to the server. What's going on? Isn't it supposed to
switch over to the Gears archive instead, on detecting that the
internet is not available? Do I need to do some funky localhost://
thing? If I do, I'd be glad to bookmark it.
