I am trying to install Gears on my Win XP PC. I've successfully installed it on my laptop on the same network and uses the same antivirus app. Error message:
Gears Installer Installation failed. Ensure that your computer is connected to the Internet and that your firewall allows GoogleUpdate.exe to connect and then try again. Error code = 0x80042194. I tried deleting Firefox extension.rdf file per another post. Didn't work. I searched for this error code and found nothing close. What else is left to try? Thanks.
