Sync is available from www.cloudhero.com What you do it ID the folders and file you want SYNCed - like office 2003 files. Cloud Hero sends the file up to Google Docs and if modified in Google Docs or on the local PC the file changes are replicated/synced. Google does not have sync for Office 2007 formats yet. That said, Cloud Hero will allow sending of Excel 2007 files to Google Docs but not SYNCED.
Cloud Hero is better than Google Gears for sync as it allows for full sync and then you can have your HISTORY (file versions) through Google Docs.
