As a workaround you can use the "All Mail" folder. There you'll be able to see both sent and received messages (as long as they have been downloaded by Geary). Thanks! That works. (Only thing is that I have set filters for some mails that get archived automatically, now they're always shown. I know it's a workaround, so I can live with it for now.)
