Hi Pooja, The deprecated, loosely typed methods for creating modules and module lists have been deprecated in 0.12.0 which was released in July 2015. These deprecations and respective replacement methods have been mentioned in the changelog: http://www.gebish.org/manual/1.0/#deprecations-2. I believe that given all that a reasonable upgrade path has been provided for these methods and therefore it was not unfair that they got removed.
Note that Geb follows semantic versioning (http://semver.org/) and the removal of deprecated methods in the 1.0 release is provided for in items 4 (http://semver.org/#spec-item-4) and 5 (http://semver.org/#spec-item-5) of semantic versioning specification.
