Andrea,
      Having lived in the city my whole life and only seeing the large black 
crickets in the basement of our house, I just don't like bugs.      
Cockroaches and Crickets are in the same category - UGH.    I don't mind 
grasshoppers or preying mantis.    Spiders are OK if small.

When my son first bought his first Leopard Gecko, I gave him the money to 
purchase the second one for company; however, now after doing some reading, I 
found that Leopard Geckos don't need companionship.   

Luckily for us, we have a male and a female.   We don't plan on mating them 
unless they do it on their own.
