Ahh! The literature reference that refers to this incredible story just
occurred to me. The story is contained in the Ivan T. Sanderson book
entitled "Caribbean Treasure". I have this book and just remembered where
I had read about
this crazy story concerning Proctoporus. I have heard very few other
people who knew much about this. I am
curious as to whether or not the TV documentary portrayed the species as
truly being able to do this, or as a reference
to folklore? In any case, this is an uncommon story and species!
