I am curious about your breeding and shipping
standards. Would you mind emailing me again? I know
we've talked about my keeping leos and you were a big
help in helping me set up their new tanks, but I want
to set up preparations and everything for breeding and
would like to pick your brain again <grin>!
Also, does anyone know the effects that cigarette
smoke might have on reptiles, especially the leopard
geckos? The friend I got them from was a heavy smoker
as well as her husband. The tank reeks of cigarette
smoke. I want to wash down everything in their tank
with a reptile cleaner and replace the calci-sand in
their tank. I plan to leave the male in the "home"
tank and move the girls to a larger tank of their own.
I didn't want to do too much changes with them when we
first got them home because of the changes in their
environment, but they have been so active and so
gentle that we decided to go ahead and begin handling
them. They are even eating and are very active when
they see us around their tank. I thought theses guys
were supposed to be nocturnal, but they come out A LOT
during the day! They are so curious about everything.
They have also been kept together since day one, so I
know the females have been over breed... we had our
first egg last night, but within 12 hours it had
collapsed. Is this because of the over breeding, lack
of proper nutrition, or what?
