I agree with Lyle, if these R. brevicaudatus are adults they should be able 
to handle small crickets.  If you want to offer the fruit flies in addition 
to the crickets (which I occasionally did for variety), you might want to 
place a couple of very small pieces of orange (secured with toothpicks) in 
the branches of the plants.  The fruit flies will tend to congregate there 
which will cut down on the number of them climbing up the sides of the 
enclosure.  Unfortunately, even with a screen top on the enclosure, some will 
inevitably escape.
