     When I hold Andy or Jake I talk softly to them and sometimes they cock 
their head as if listening.   I too believe those holes are their ears.

      My son named Jake (the female) before we joined the email group and 
found out about how to tell the sex.    Rather than changing the name, he 
left it the same.
