I recieved my new scale and weighed all my lizards. I was curious about
my new leo's weights. They look a lot thinner than the female I have. The
new male weighs 67g, the two new females weigh 57g, and 59g. The female I
have had for 1 year weighs 77g.
My biggest concern is the husbandry the new gex had previously. They had
no dish of calcium, the crix were not gut loaded nor dusted. They people
just dumped a bunch in straight from the pet store, and when those were
eaten got more. Also there was no UV bulb. The females laid 8 eggs each
last year. Should I hold off on breeding them? How much should they weigh
before I breed them? Should I be worried about their malnutrition?
Also, these are High Yellow Jungle morphs, I am told. My female, a
rescue of unknown parentage, has hardly any spots and is distinctly pink
compared to the other ones. What would you call her morph, if you had to
guess? I am tryinig to borrow a digital cam so I can post a picture.
Thanks for all your help,
Cyndy
PS my rescued fat tail that I still hand feed is up to 67g. i am going to
start weighing him regularly and try to *starve* him in to hunting.
