Title
New species of parachute gecko (Squamata: Gekkonidae: genus
Ptychozoon) from northeastern Thailand and central Vietnam.
Source
Copeia. [ print] 1999(4). December, 1999. 990-1001.
Abstract
I describe a new species of parachute gecko from localities in
northeastern Thailand and the central highlands of Vietnam. The new
species is known from intact climax rain forest and slightly disturbed
clearings or secondary forest adjacent to intact rain forest. The new
species differs from congeners by the combination of three (vs
four) transverse bands in the axilla-groin region, 19-21 preanofemoral
pore-bearing scales in a continuous series, 15-16 cutaneous denticulate
lobes of the tail, lateral orientation of the caudal lobes, minimal
reduction in total width of distal portions of the tail, absence of
substantive lateral expansion of the straight-edged tail terminus beyond
the nearest denticulate caudal lobe, minimal lobe fusion at the proximal
border of the tail terminus, continuation of caudal tubercles distally on
to the dorsal surface of tail terminus, absence of a predigital notch in
the preantebrachial cutaneous expansion, and the presence (in a Thai
specimen) of a single mid-vertebral row of flat dorsal tubercles
(vertebral tubercle series absent in Vietnamese specimens).

Title
Definition of the Philippine parachute gecko, Ptychozoon intermedium
Taylor 1915 (Reptilia: Squamata: Gekkonidae): Redescription, designation
of a neotype, and comparisons with related species.
Source
Herpetologica. 53(3). 1997. 357-373.
Abstract
The Philippine parachute gecko, Ptychozoon intermedium, originally
described from a single specimen that was destroyed during World War II,
is redescribed on the basis of all available museum specimens and newly
acquired material from the island of Mindanao, Philippines. This
Philippine endemic differs from its congeners by the combination of large
size at maturity (snout-to-vent length = 68.6-99.8 mm), 8-12 pore-bearing
preanal and 12-19 pore-bearing femoral scales; the usual presence of flat
or slightly convex dorsal tubercles; denticulate dermal expansions along
the tail ending in a small terminal flap (at most slightly larger than
nearest lobe) with limited lobe fusion on its proximal edge; three
transverse wavy bands in dorsal axilla-groin distance; and various body
proportions. We designate a neotype from Davao City Province, Mindanao,
and describe the parachuting escape behavior of this secretive Philippine
gecko.

Title
KARYOTYPES OF TWO SPECIES OF THE GENUS PTYCHOZOON GEKKONIDAE LACERTILIA
FROM SOUTHEAST ASIA.
Source
Japanese Journal of Herpetology 12 (4). 1988. 139-141.
Abstract
Karyotypes of two Ptychozoon species, P. kuhli and P. lionatum from
Southeast Asia are investigated for the first time. The results showed the
occurrence of extensive chromosomal differentiation between the two
species. Taxonomic implications of the present results are discussed.
