Leos don't pair-bond, or show any family structure AFAIK. Females seem
to be only interested in males for an annual recharge of the sperm storage.
My females don't seem to have any particular social behaviours, except for
sleeping draped over each other sometimes.

Young leos seem to be more shy, as they get older they spend more time
sleeping or lounging in the open. Perhaps in nature they have fewer
predators that can eat an adult leo.

If you want a diurnal reptile pet that can take more handling and
interaction, you might consider a bearded dragon. These animals normally
live in social hierarchies, so they have natural behaviours that can
perhaps be adapted to interactions with humans.
