I just grab the live ones and throw them in a critter keeper while I'm
cleaning the tank.

Yes - they grow very quickly (But kept cooler, they won't mature as
quickly). But you can get crickets in all sizes. If you order 7 day old's
you'll have them a lot longer. And, you'll be mighty surprised at what even
a juvenile leopard can take down :)
