Hello Jamie,
Take a trip east of Big Bend to the Black Gap Wildlife Management
Area (Brewster County). The only access road is along farm road 2627 (which connects
to highway 385). Its along this very road that Wayne Seifert and Robert
Murphy found their specimens in the early 70's. The first specimens to
be found since the lone holotype in 1958 (also from Black Gap). They
seem to be fairly impartial to habitat, being found near both
limestone and igneous outcrops. The main thing that draws them out,
though is rain. Pray for it on your trip and you might be blessed. And
for gosh sakes bring a camera!
Good luck.
Oh, and you may need a permit to get in there, either a hunting
license or a public use permit. Call Texas parks and wildlife for info.
