I thought this episode emphasized a point made in the recent discussion by
Don Wells and Emmanuel aboiut phelsuma imports. O'Shea is looking for
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
O'Shea rarely gets what he is looking for have you noticed? I can hardly
stand to watch his program! If it wasnt for the incidentals he finds along
the way the show would go bust!
Emmanuels situation is somewhat different. He is studying a diurnal species
that should be out and about when he is there. I have searched for Phelsumas
in the tropics when I knew they were there the day before in large numbers
and today you cant see any! There are things that control these little beasts
that we just dont know about yet!
Emmanuels assesment on the numbers of P.guimbeui are probably more accurate
then anyones since he has spent the time there and repeatedly over years of
time. O'Shea simply doesnt have the touch!
Don Wells
There are three kinds of men. The ones that learn by reading. The
few who learn by observation. The rest of them have to pee on the
electric fence for themselves.
