Hi Troy,
Sorry for the confusion! I am happy to help if I can. It will be great
to see your photo. You were being totally appropriate with the below original
post, sexing gex is on topic.

Julie, No,
you must have me confused with someone else.I bought
this one local. But thanks for the help anyway. And
as for the photo, yea, I will do that tonight. I was worried I would get
flamed by someone as to how I was using this list. I really like this list
and I don't want to mess up a good thing.

Subject: Re: [Gecko] male or female?
Hi Troy,
I did sell you this gecko, right? We had talked about this offlist and
probably should continue to do so. My apologies if I have you mixed up
with someone else! The gecko in that conversation was much younger though,
about 4 months, harder to sex. At nine months you should be able to sex
a leopard gecko fairly easily as both male and female are sexually mature
at that age. Males will start to have "gunk" flowing out of their femoral
pores at that time. Hemipenes will be obvious in males. Some females will
also have "bumps" but no gunk coming out of the pores. How about sending
me a photo of the underside of the gecko or posting one to the list if
you have the capability.

I have a leo that
is about 9 months old. It was sold to me as a female but I don't know.
I have a couple of books that show the preanal pores
for males and I have seen a male that realy resembles those pictures. But
my "female" seems to have them if you look realy close. And as for the
bulges at the base of the tale, there seems to be
slight bumps but nothing like the male I once saw.
Is there any other things I could do to be sure what
sex they are? If I put her with a male and "she" is actualy a male, how
long before the would fight?
Thanks,
T.D.
