Hello again,
I just put my two Rhac ciliatus back in their tank after a cleaning.
As I was sitting here watching them, I noticed the male licking two small
white protrusions from his hemipenal bulge. It appeared to me that one went
back in, and then he jumped from one branch to the next, and a little white
chunky looking thing is daggling from his, well, hemipene or something. It
basically looks like a little white boogar dangling on a little white snot
trailer. He does not seem to notice or mind, although presently he hasn't
moved any more either.
So, is this actually part of his reproductive tract that for some reason or
other ejected itself, or did he just get a little too excited and is trailing
a little mess?
And, if it's the prior, will it go back in on it's own or does he need
professional help?
Ok, well, he just moved and the little white thing broke off and is sitting
on a branch, and he doesn't seem to be the least bit interested. So I guess
I've answered my own question, but if anyone has witnessed this as well, or
can verify my theory, I'd be happy to hear from you.
Thanks again,
Neal Grant
