I sometimes have a goofy technique with heat packs. I use one the normal
way and them open a second but do not take it from the wrapping. In my
feeble brain I have one giving off a larger burst the fisrt leg of the
trip, then the slow burning heat pack will still be going when the first
one starts to fade.
I think that when we finish this box trip I'll place a box outside in the
snow and take hourly readings.
