There's a small amount of info in the Gecko Fauna of the USSR book.
THese little geckos are native to a wide area from SW Turkey and
the west shores of the Red Sea across to Afghanistan and NW India.
They live on rocky hillsides and sandy areas and are often found
around houses. It sounds like they should be happy in parts of Texas
which are similar in latitude and climate to parts of their range.
The book puts them in the Cyrtopodion subgenus of Tenuidactylus, but
I think there's still some controversy about how to split up the rest
of Cyrtodactylus now that this name is confined to the SE Asian species.
