A few months back a large importer imported some lined day geckos (Phelsuma lineata).
The females were laying eggs so the importer hatched them out. The problem that they
had was that they don't buy pinhead crickets. They had nothing to feed the hatchling
day geckos so the importer started giving the babies to whomever would give them a
good home. I have about 9 or 10 hatchlings and they are doing well and growing. An
employee of the importer told me that he definitely saw some gold dust day geckos
(Phelsuma laticauda) mixed in with the lined geckos. I believe that if there were some
gold dusts mixed in possibly there are also some Phelsuma lineata bombetokensis,
chloroscelis, bifasciata, dorsivittata, elanthana, or punctulata in the mix. Now here
is my question...how and when will I be able to identify exactly which species I have?
Thank you for any and all info, I think that this list is an incredible forum for
learning about geckos. Sorry for being long winded.
